David and the Psalms (2008)

In Psalms by cwfeldmann

The events surrounding David as he fled Jerusalem in humiliation were discussed. Why would David at one time in his life confidently run forward to chop off the head of a giant, while at another time, he would humbly allow a man to curse at him and throw dirt in his face? Which is a better revelation of the truth about God? And we discussed many of the individual Psalms. Why do so many wish for vengeance against enemies even to the point of hating them “with a total hatred”? Is this a valid expression we may have toward our enemies? Why is Psalm 69 quoted so many times in reference to the Messiah, if the person in Psalms 69 is at times also referred to as a sinner?
