This is the first lecture in another series through the Bible. Since a chronological trip through the Bible immediately involves going through some difficult and often discouraging stories that can tarnish God’s reputation, let’s first consider what we can say about God based on the relationship between Father, Son and Holy Spirit. The Bible opens with the words “In the beginning, God…” The Gospel of John expands on this to essentially say, “In the beginning…[God] was with God…” Before the creation of our world and before the creation of anything, Father, Son and Holy Spirit lived together in a loving relationship. What does the Bible say about this relationship and what are the implications for the way we should relate to God and to others?
