The book of Micah contains a very direct and bottom line summary of exactly what God requires of us. The answer is rather surprising in a way. What God wanted during the time of Micah had nothing to do with offering sacrifices, providing God with some form of payment to cover sins, or even having the “right” list of doctrinal beliefs. Not to minimize the importance of these things, but does the bottom line list provided by Micah also apply to us today?
“This is what the LORD requires of you: to do what is right, to love mercy, and to walk humbly with your God.” (Micah 6:8)
