Our God is...

In Hebrews 12:29 we read that "Our God is a consuming fire." What do these words mean? They could certainly be interpreted as a hostility that is directed from God and toward His rebellious children. This folder will be used for everything related to the fire of God. Does God end the great controversy by destroying sinners with fire? What does fire refer to in the book of Revelation? Of course, a better question would be to ask, "what does the entire Bible say about fire?", since the book of Revelation derives from all previous 65 books. Finally, what did Jesus mean when He said, "I have come to set fire to the earth! And how I wish it were already kindled!" (Luke 12:49)?

I've included my Bible study from the book of Isaiah (part 1) since this book gives tremendous insights into the subject of fire. At least 50% of this Bible study was dedicated to the topic of fire. Isaiah's experience in the presence of God (Isaiah chapter 6) is very important to our understanding of the torture described in Revelation, chapter 14. click here to watch the powerpoint slides with the audio.
