Leviticus, part 1: The Spiritual Temple

Is there any value in studying a sacrificial system which has been obsolete for almost 2,000 years?

The New Testament continually redirects our attention to the sanctuary service which would seem to invite a deeper understanding of the symbols involved. For example, Peter would say that we are being built together as "a spiritual temple" (1 Peter 2:5) while Paul would repeatedly ask the question, "Don't you know that you are the temple?"

What does the Tabernacle in the wilderness tell us about the spiritual temple?
